Bill Radvak, BASc – President, CEO and Director
Bill Radvak joined American Vanadium as President and CEO in January, 2010. He spearheaded the company’s transition from a mineral exploration company into a vertically integrated energy storage company with the execution of the Master Sales Agreement for North America with Gildemeister to market the world’s leading CellCube vanadium redox flow energy storage system. At American Vanadium, he guided the Gibellini Project in Nevada through a positive feasibility study and into the environmental permitting process.
Bill Radvak received a Mining and Mineral Process Engineering Degree (1986) from the University of British Columbia. Previously, he was a Founder and CEO of Response Biomedical, a publicly listed medical device company. Mr. Radvak led Response Biomedical from its evolution to a 90-employee, sales and manufacturing company.
Brett Whalen, CFA – Director, Chairman
Brett Whalen joined American Vanadium as a Director in October 2013 and became Chairman of the Board in April, 2014. Brett serves as the Vice President & Portfolio Manager of Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel Inc. and has over 10 years of experience with CMP and Canadian Dominion Resources.
Mr. Whalen received a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Wildfrid Laurier University in 1998 and became a CFA charter holder in 2001. Prior to joining American Vanadium, Brett was an investment banker with experience that included senior positions at Dundee Capital Markets, Clarus Securities Inc. and Jacob Securities where he assisted mining companies with financings and M&A transactions.
Brian Bayley – Director
Mr. Bayley is experienced in areas of natural resources and real estate lending as well as corporate restructuring and the management and administration of public companies. He is currently the President and a Director of Earlston Management Corp., formerly Ionic Management Corp. (a private management company). From June 2003 to July 2013, Mr. Bayley held various positions including CEO and President and Director of Quest Capital Corp., a predecessor company to Sprott Resource Lending Corp. (a publicly traded resource lending company). Mr. Bayley has held active senior management positions in both private and public natural resource companies and has over 30 years of public issuer experience both as a director and officer. Mr. Bayley holds an MBA from Queen's University.
